Kanbi Projects is pleased to announce its participation at the 10th edition of the 1-54 London art fair.
We will be presenting works by 3 artists on the continent - Adegboyega Adesina, David Olatoye and Odinakachi Okoroafor. The works seek to negotiate the meaning of Black portraiture situated with an African context, going beyond the generalization of simply portraying Black individuals to understanding the diversity and specificity of the plenitude and multivalent of expressions of practices in Black portraiture.
Founded in 2013, 1-54 is the leading international art fair dedicated to contemporary art from Africa and its diaspora. Striving to promote diverse perspectives, 1-54 features leading international galleries specialising in contemporary African art, accompanied by a FORUM talks and Special Projects programme.
Kanbi Projects will be presenting at Booth S12, located in the South wing of the fair at Somerset House from 13 - 16 October 2022. Visit our booth page on Artsy or the Online Viewing Room on our website to explore the selection of works and the curatorial text.
